What We Do
We are an informal coalition of volunteers operating under the umbrella of Alton Climate Action Network.
We are working towards achieving better cycling infrastructure in our town and improved connectivity for active travellers between Alton and the surrounding villages.
Safe cycling infrastructure is needed to help more people to feel confident they can cycle safely to their local destinations.

These are some of the main benefits of riding a bicycle:
It enhances our health, both physical and mental
It reduces congestion and pollution on the roads, improving the environment for everybody
It creates equal opportunities to all groups within society to access education, employment and essential services, especially for women, disabled people and minority groups
It’s accessible and affordable
It promotes mobility for everybody
OUR Funding..
comes from local community groups, local councillors or local authority grants for specific projects. We have no regular income.
OUR partnerships..
are with our local authorities, who currently are
After the Local Government Reorganisation, from 2028 onwards, we’ll be liaising with councillors and officers from the new Hampshire & Solent Combined County Authority.
Our interactions with the Alton community are via summer fairs in the town, our social media and emails.
