Cycle Alton has planned an event to launch its new website, logo and a new map designed in conjunction with Walk Alton.

Join us for a short family-friendly bike ride to discover your local cycleable route to the town centre.  Meet at one of five locations:

  • Southview Rise by the shops

  • Anstey Park by Energique

  • Salisbury Close on the green near the junction with The Ridgeway

  • Chawton car park opposite Jane Austen's House

  • Buntings at the Gilbert White Way junction

Follow an experienced ride leader to the town centre, arriving at 12 noon, where we'll receive a welcome from the Alton Mayor.

The rides will use quiet routes previously researched by Cycle Alton.  Look out for the 'Cycle Route to Town Centre' stickers on lamp posts along the way.

Join us on Saturday 28th March, no need to book, just turn up!

Meet at 11:15 for an 11:30 start.  The routes are from 3/4 mile to just under 1 1/2 miles long.

We recommend wearing a helmet and hi-vis.

In the Market Square there will be

  • half-price refreshments from nearby outlets, including 20% off in Pizza Express via vouchers to be given out;

  • free bicycle security marking by Hampshire Police

  • free bicycle checks

  • free maps showing cycling and walking routes in and around Alton

  • free displays in No.16 Market Square of the new Cycle Alton website and the Walk Alton website with a preview of the upcoming May Walking Festival
